Using TeamViewer (For critical PC users)
This article is restricted to critical users only, not all staff can use TeamViewer. TeamViewer allows you to remote connect to your work PC and take control.
For TeamViewer to work, it is best to leave it open and running in the background of your work PC as displayed in the image under step 2. The work computer can then be locked by pressing Windows key then the 'L' key on your keyboard or by Start > User profile icon > Lock
1. To launch TeamViewer you can double click on the shortcut on your desktop or searching for it on Windows.
2. Once opened, a window like the one below will appear. In the Partner ID textbox, enter the ID which you have received via email and then click Connect. If you have not received your ID via email, please contact IT on ithelpdesk@luu.org.uk.
3. A window will appear where you can login to the device, click on Advanced, select Windows, as the Authentication method. Enter your username but with DS\ at the beginning. For example, if the username is unimkh, the username will be entered as: DS\unimkh. The backslash key (\) is usually to the left of the 'z' key. Finally, enter your usual password for logging into your work PC and click Log On. You should then be connected to your work PC.
