Using Google File Stream
Google File Stream allows you to access all your Google files via your File Explorer in Windows. This allows you to free up disk space as files are stored on the cloud and you also have the latest version of a file if there are collaborators on your documents.
1. To access File Stream, search for Drive File Stream in your PC and click on the first result:
2. The following window should appear, if it does not, check if File Stream is already running in the background by clicking on the arrow in the taskbar and then double-clicking on the File Stream icon. as displayed in the second image below:
3. Once you have signed in and clicked through the introductory steps, you'll be prompted to open the Google File Stream folder, click on this and the window below will appear:
4. From here, you can simply go into your personal drive or shared drives to access files.
To go onto the File Stream window, you can search for This PC, double click on the Google Drive File Stream drive and the above window will appear:
