3CX Windows Application
If you have any issues with the 3CX Web client you can alternatively use the 3CX Windows app which can be downloaded with the file in the attachment at the bottom of this page.
1. Follow the installation steps until the window like the one below appears. If you have 3CX already installed and it won't open via the search bar, click on the small arrow in the taskbar located on the bottom right of your screen then double click the blue WiFi icon and 3CX will open.
2. To setup your account, you will need a configuration file which will be in the welcome email sent by 3CX. Head over to your LUU Gmail/@leeds email and search for Welcome to 3CX, open the email (Let IT know if you don't have a welcome email) and scroll to the bottom. There should two attachments as displayed below . Hover your cursor over the config file (the one with the blue doc icon) and click download.
3. With 3CX open in the background as displayed in the first image, click and hold on the config file and then move your cursor towards the 3CX app located on the taskbar, which is at the bottom of your screen. Hold it there for a second and the 3CX client will display, whilst still holding the config file, move your cursor onto the 3CX app (in the grey area) to drop the configuration file and all your settings will import. The app may prompt for an update which takes a few seconds to complete once you click Yes.
4. The address book should now appear in the 3CX app you can make and receive calls.
5. If you are using a headset to make and receive calls, you will need to change a few audio options on the 3CX app. Whilst your headset is plugged in to your laptop/computer, go onto the options button on the app and then select Audio Options.
6. On the audio devices sections, click on the Microphone dropdown and select your headset and then do the same for Speaker. Leave the Ringing option as your device speaker otherwise incoming calls will only be heard on your headset.
You are now ready to the use the 3CX application. For more guidance on using the 3CX app, take a look here.
